family/friends 2000-2008

this series explores my everyday life, small moments carefully observed. while my life may not extra-ordinary, all lives have those little extraordinary fragments which i try to capture, epiphanies. this can be boredom, banality, mortality, hurt, anger, wonderment. all of these things comprise my life with those i love and am closest to, intimate moments, like reading in between the lines- my father, losing his memory to alzheimer's, my daughter perched in the lap of a friend mirroring a balthus painting, discovering death in the garden, or merely gazing into the camera, all of these scenes define my observation of our lives, our fragile interactions of those we love.
